Photo Friday: Don't be Afraid to Get Your Toes Wet

There's something funny about the way a four year old understands "getting wet." Everest's Pre-K teacher used to tell me that the kids would splash in huge deep puddles if they had their rainboots on - as if the rainboots would protect them all the way up to their foreheads. And here's little Darya, cautiously sticking her toes in the pool at the Sandpearl Resort. She's desperate to check it out, and I've told her it's ok, but she's terrified of getting her favorite dress wet.

     I do love those zero-entry pools for just this reason. Isn't it amazing to think there was really no such thing when we were kids? At least no place my parents ever took me!

     It must be a 4yr old girl thing. My daughter is the same - gum boots or old clothes and she's out in the puddles squealing with joy. A hose and a trampoline and she'll be the first to strip to her undies. But a nice dress or pretty shoes ... runs away from the water!

     I love that she is trying so hard to make sure that pretty dress doesn't get wet! Those zero entry pools are so great for mom and dad because it is so easy to keep an eye on the kids from the sidelines!
