Everest had never encountered a real life typewriter until we saw them in the Museum of Modern Art at San Francisco (SFMOMA). The expression on his face seems fitting for a blogger's son, right?

The Japanese Tea Garden is a park within a park. It might seem strange to pay an admission fee when the kids can run around Golden Gate Park for free, but trust me, they are totally going to love crossing all the bridges and climbing up to those pavilions.

A hilight of our trip to
San Francisco was a family visit to the Exploratorium. In this picture, E watches the smoke (cold steam) rise in a smoke filled chamber. The chamber was big enough for the kids to run around in, creating their air movement patterns, and watch how ...

Little D and I woke up early after our first night in San Francisco. I think we were both excited to explore the city. Starbucks always provides a low-key and easy to find breakfast when we are visiting a new city, so we sneaked out for some banana bread, cheerios ...

My earliest experiences exploring a major city were in San Francisco. I grew up about 20 minutes south of San Francisco. On weekends, my parents would often take us up to "the city" to explore attractions like the Steinhart Aquarium, Chinatown and the Exploratorium. As we got older, the excursions ...
