The Embassy Suites Waikiki Beachwalk is in some ways nothing like the urban Embassy Suites you may have experienced. It has all the amenities you expect, like a breakfast buffet (served in the huge outdoor lanai, a manager's reception (with live Hawaiian music), and all suites rooms complete with microwave, refrigerator, mini-bar, and free wifi. Instead of being built around a central courtyard, two huge towers look over a central pool and lanai. Rooms are lighter and brighter than than the typical Embassy suites and have a tropical feel. The bedding, including down pillows are a nicer grade than at most Embassy Suite locations. The breakfast here is huge and includes both American options like french toast, pancakes and made-to-order omelets, and Japanese options like miso soup, fried rice and salad.
The pool isn't huge (which seems to be typical for this part of Waikiki), but there's plenty of seating, food service, and a 1 1/2 foot deep toddler area segregated from the deeper 3-4 foot main pool. The beach is a block away, and there's a convenient ABC market just across the street.

Hello! We are preparing to take our 3 children under 3 (twins and a baby) to Waikiki in April. I also would like to stay in a suite with a kitchen...is there any place that you would suggest? I have already looked at private condos, apartment, homes and hotel suites. Parking is $$, but like to be in stroller/walking distance to the beach. Thanks for any suggestions.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to review multiple properties on this trip. Good luck finding the right place!
